Christmas Decorations @ Home - 2011

Its the month of december and every one is getting ready to celebrate the Christmas in the true spirit. Its the time where we can see cribs, christmas trees, christmas stars at homes, shops, malls etc. Christmas is a festival which marks the birth of Jesus Christ. People creates pulkoodu (crib) in rememberance of the manger where Jesus was born. During this Chritmas season we have created a pulkoodu at our home, not to mention the stars and the christmas tree. Once the pulkoodu is created it is decorated with colorful bulbs to make it attractive. Below are the snaps of the pulkoodu, tree and stars from my home.

Onam Pookalam @ Home - 2011

Making pooklam is an integral part of the Onam celebration. In the early good old school days we used to collect flowers from our houses and the near by houses. But things have changed and now a days its hard to find flowers at homes. But making a pookalam in front of the house almost holds the sae importance as of the olden days.
